wouldn't get into a motel. So the men lost as usual and we compromised on staying overnight at Holden. They were scared to death that they would too late get anything here. But here we are at the Sea Shell Motel in Holden. We have adjoining rooms. Tommy and I in one and the ladies in the other with a roll -a-way bed for Jean to sleep in. After cleaning up -gassed up the car and had dinner in the Sundown Café recommended by the Motel and operated by a couple of Chinks. Food was very good. I had a Filet of Sole dinner - $1.10 with clam chowder- toss salad w/beets lima Beans Mashed Potatoes - Bread Pudding and Coffee. Helen had the same treatment only with Fried Oysters. $1.45. Jean had Shrimp with Fried Rice for $1.25 that she could not finish w/chocolate milk. Tommy a Grilled Cheese Sandwich w/ an order of French Fries and Chocolate Milk. Gladys had a Clam Chowder- French Fries - Bread Pudding and hot tea.
Back to the room and the ladies got to bed at 9:00. I stayed up to
