Took off from Boulder Dam thru Boulder City and went to Mass at Henderson at 10:00 am. Finished with that and headed for Las Vegas. Didn't stop but rode down the Main Stem to look at the Gambling Casinos. From the street you could look in and see people working the One Armed Bandits. I understand this place is open 25 hrs a day and eight days a week. Beautiful buildings. Motel- Wide Streets and clean. Can well imagine how the place must look like at night with all the illumination. Spent only fifteen minutes poking around here and we took off for the last lap on our long journey. Our next heading was for San Bernardino and the straight thru to Long Beach. We didn't realize that Long Beach was clear across the State to the Pacific Ocean and had quite a time getting to it. Every few miles we would stop and ask and the natives would look at us incredulously and say ' Man - that's fifty or sixty miles that ways". So we kept on going and going - the kids were getting impatient - the ladies wanted to call up Bob + Kay to meet us and I wouldn't do it.
