Well here we are at Kingman Arizona after as long tough ride from Santa Anna. We hit a number of detours from US 66 but none of them were too bad. The ever changing scenery even tho it seemed to be all wasteland, and continual up hill and down hill kept us all in suspense. Incidentally the driving doesn't seem to bother me a bit the continual cross winds buffeted the car from side to side and there was always the fighting the wheel to keep the car in the traffic lane. The rack on top of the car caused a lot of wind resistance so that it was difficult to get over 65 miles per hour even if the ladies would permit it. Anyway we finally pulled into this town which sort of sets in a valley. Most of the Motels are on the downgrade coming into town so we passed them all by and headed for the Loma Vista just outside of town with the expectation that it would be refrigerated. That is the first question we asked and the answer was 'No'. so we started to pile back in the car again when the lady proprietor asked if we wouldn't like to see the rooms. We had got that far and were pretty well played out so
