Restaurant where Kay - Helen and I had Chicken Pie for 85c. Gladys had a Beef Steak Pie - same price and a neighbor had Chicken Giblets on Rice 75c. We prowled around some more visiting the meat stalls-vegetable and Fruit Stands- Flower Markets - and the upshot was that I didn't spend a dime as I couldn't see anything unusual about the place but the prices.
Before we went to the Market - all of us except Helen went next door to the Television Studios of C.B.S. to see if we could get into a television show. They have a system there that if ticket holders don't show up they allow a certain number of non-ticket holders in. Well at the eleven o'clock line they let in about thirty to I believe the Crosby Show and the balance of fifty could stay and take a gamble on the two o'clock show. That didn't make sense so we found out there would be a conducted tour at 1 PM. so we came back at that time and with about forty more were taken on a tour of the premises. Well we saw a number of Studios including the Art Linkletter and the Carson Shows. Al kinds of equipment -lights-phony scenery- Wardrobe Rooms-Makeup rooms - everything clean as a whistle. Well we were leg weary by this time and were glad to get back in the Ford and head for home before the 5PM rush started from L.A. for the suburbs. So back in the Freeway again going hell bent for election and home. Before we started for Home however we took a trip up Beverly Hills and the Homes of some of the Movie Stars. Well if you could
