Took off from Salt Lake City to visit the Great Salt Lakes about thirteen miles outside of town. It looks like a 4th Revere Beach with concessions that were not open. We were only interested in bathing so I paid 40c each for Jean and Tommie and 65c for my self-stayed in ten minutes and got out. Very difficult to swim in because your fanny won't submerge. Could float perfectly on your back. Got some of the Salt Water in my eyes and I couldn't get any relief until I got out and took a shower. Back into the City again and took off for Yellowstone only we didn't that far and stopped of in Ashton at the Silver Stream Motel. This was one of the most unusual places we stopped at. Individual Cabins very clean - out in the country - and very quiet. The place is operated by a guide and his wife and we enjoyed our stay here very much. They operated a Café in conjunction with the cabins and served good food. The country hereabouts is very hilly and old Betsy pounded up and down without a kick -back.
