Farmers Market

Freeway's
This Farmers Market had a definite spot on our agenda so we left the children w/Bob's sister-in-law and took off around 10AM. This place is just outside of Los Angeles in the Hollywood Section and to get there we travelled on what they called the Los Angeles Freeway. This is to be compared in a way with the Worcester Turnpike except that it has five lanes in each direction- it passes by all the towns and you can only enter and leave by by specific inlets and exits. The legal speed as I understand it is 55 miles per hour, altho I might say that I was going and sixty and sixty five and they just whizzed by me. The Motor Cycle Cops are there to keep the traffic rolling and this they sure do. It amazed me the way double trailer trucks moved along at 60 mph. They have clover leafs and double clover leafs and they zoom around these like mad. Anyway we got to the Farmers Market and to me it looked like a glorified magnified Faneuil Hall. It seemed as if there were more than a hundred individual booths and stores selling everything under the sun. The only attractive part of the whole deal was the varieties of eating places. All nationalities were represented w/their own styles of food. So we settled for an Air Conditioned American
