given a dismissal slip and paid off. Union or otherwise. I liked very much the style of homes they have out here-along the lines of Ranch Houses. They are what I call commodious - all set back from the sidewalk - most of the them with two car garages (for most workers have two cars) lovely roomable Kitchens with plenty of wall cabinets - garbage disposals-washing machines-clothes dryers and other conveniences. Every body out here takes great pride in their front lawns and back gardens and the men work as hard at it as the ladies. Back garden Barbecues are the rule rather than the exception and the dividing ornamental wood fence gives plenty of privacy. I didn't like their water mostly because it wasn't cold and reason for this is that all pipes are less than a foot under the surface. There is no such thing as a Main Sunday Dinner. Plans are made on Saturday for a trip someplace with a picnic lunch. Here in Kay's section they are about ten minutes run to Salt water. Belmont Shore in Long Beach faces the Ocean on one side and a protected Bay on the opposite side. Lovely Water - not cold and not warm. Regarding the weather I must say it is unusual. At no time were the days unusually warm and at night we had to have a sheet and one blanket. Since leaving Long Beach travelling towards Yellowstone I can appreciate their weather on the Pacific Coast. We
