Plans had been made for the Ladies to go shopping again so after Kay got thru with some of her Xmas Card business I took off for Long Beach and the Automobile  Club to get lined up for the trip home starting Monday Aug. 1st. We had decided to go thru Zion National Park - Salt Lake City - Yellowstone Park and then cross country to Milwaukee and take the Ferry so I made it a point to find out what the Ferry Charges across Lake Michigan would be and here is the story. $4.82 per person which would mean $24.10 plus $7.96 for the car plus $6.32 for a two person stateroom. This would total altogether $44.70. Crossing takes twelve hours - Ferry leaves at 12:30 PM and reservations must be made two weeks in advance. So that's out . We have compromised by bypassing Chicago and going thru Gary - Cleveland and Buffalo. Let's see how it works out.

The kids meantime had been sent to the supervised Playground where they spent the morning at the playground- home for lunch when the ladies took off again and I took over. Walked the feet of the kids and myself included but it didn't mean a thing. They had more pep than I did . Picnic Ham (Smoked Shoulder) for supper and it was good eating.
