Time is marching on and so we have to start thinking about our return trip. Only one more week to go as we plan on leaving here Monday Aug 1st. When I took Tommy and Bobby to Long Beach on Thursday - stopped in at the Automobile Club of Southern Calif - and had them outline various route per the U.S. Map on the back cover. Have Tentatively decided on Salt Lake City - Yellowstone Park-and cross country thru Milwaukee Detroit and home. This seems to offer the most interesting and scenic route and we can allow enough time for it.
Sunday Church: Bob, Kay and the two boys to 8 o'clock Mass. Helen-Gladys and I with the two boys to the 10:30 Mass in the School Cafeteria. New Pastor still looking for pledges for the new church-School and Convent. Has arranged for four teachers for Sept. of 1956 and has to have everything ready by then. The Chancellor's Office will match whatever he raises in the form of a loan or mortgage so it is easily understandable what he is up against. He must raise $75,000. Bob is on the pledge committee and has been 75% successful.
