Monday July 25th
Blue Monday as usual. Up early this morning - Bob to work. Children up had their breakfast and sent to the Public Schoolyard where they have supervised recreation. Kay and I off to the Plowboy for shopping - brought back 100 lb bag potatoes $1.95 and a flat of small strawberries for $1.25. Large berries would cost $2.50 but she figured rightly that there would be more small berries to the box than large ones. As plans had been made to go to Disneyland tomorrow she also picked up the makings for a picnic lunch as we plan to spend the whole day there. Stopped on the way home at the Thrifty Mart for a carton plain tipped Fatimas - $1.85- Viceroys would cost $1.98. Back to the house-changed my clothes and took off the for Douglas Airplane Plant. Turned in my card and the Guard's Office and referred by him to another Guard who told me what line to get in - no special consideration-four applicants ahead of me until my turn in about 1/2 hour. Talked w/a Mr. Bolton just another window interview presented my card and he asked if I was there for employment. Told him I was visiting and wanted to get some information first hand regarding pay schedules.
