Handball and other things. They also have picnic tables - barbeque and a couple of two burner gas stoves for cooking. We stayed on the beach until 3:00 PM and then walked across Ocean Boulevard to the beach facing the Pacific. It so happened that there was a group from the Fish and Wild Life Division of the State tagging I believe Albacore. They would run a net out and bring in an accumulation of fish - crabs and sting rays. They would pick out the fish to be tagged and put them in a tank from where they would pick out one at a time.-measure the length - type-pick off a scale and put it in an envelope. They would pierce the back of the fish with a needle and wire and attach red circular plastic numbers tags and tie them on. When they catch these fishes later on they can determine how much they have grown and how far they have migrated Another group would take a shovel and chop off the stinger from the Sting Rays and throw them back into the ocean. Interesting to watch. Down the beach further on they had some tremendous Earth Moving Machines taking sand from the Ocean Beach to the Bay Beach which they are expanding. As usual everything is production and believe me this group didn't lose a minute. When the Earth Mover got stuck a Bull Dozer would get behind it and push it thru.
Back home at 4PM Kay up and around - supper started. Bob home about 4:45. Roast Beef for supper w/baked potatoes Hot Beets - cucumbers pickled w/Romaine Lettuce. Poker after Supper. Vodka Stingers for Refreshment. Gladys said she couldn't taste a thing. Must be something wrong with her.
